For peace of mind, rental has it all. Renting from us includes delivery, installation and demonstration of your chosen products. We also include unlimited in-home service on your items – covering breakdowns to assistance using your products should you need it; after all, we want you to get the most out of your products from us. Service call-outs are usually with in 1 – 3 working days depending on when you notify us of your requirements. Our engineers fix 90% of appliances first time in the home and will organise a quick replacement if this is not possible. In the event we cannot get your products working, we will arrange to swap it out for a similar product – so you’re time without an appliance is limited to as short a period as possible. After all, no one wants to be without a washing machine so the laundry builds up!
Remember, this is all part of the rental service: no extra costs, no high call-out charges and no expensive repair or replacements costs.
Low outlay – a mid-range washing machine could cost you £400, plus delivery, installation and disposal of your old one, and many only come with a 1 year manufacturer’s warranty – renting the same machine could cost as little as £17.29 per month – no extra charges for services or extended warranties.
Maybe disposable income is tight and other priorities take precedent? So the new Washing Machine has to wait? With rental’s low outlay you could have it after all!
Poor Credit / Currently Unemployed?
Clarence William can offer a rental package to suit your budget and credit rating. With an ever changing catalogue of ex-rental items. Second-hand washing machines start from as little as £3.99 a week, cookers from £3 per week, Dryers from £2.50 per week – all depending on specification, age and condition etc.
How Do I Rent?
Call us to speak to one of our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Let them know what you’re after, either specific load weight or an idea of what you want or need so they can guide you through some options to help you choose.
Have some ID with you – driving licence, tenancy agreement, recent bank statement, recent utility bill, DLA letter etc.
The information our staff require to set your account up:
- Your full name, D.O.B, current address including postcode, contact phone numbers and email address
- Any previous addresses in the last 3 years you have lived at
- Employment details if applicable
- Bank details
- 2 Local relatives for emergency contact – full name, address and phone number
Some money – £25-35 deposit (depending on the appliance) plus the first weeks rental.
Once all details are taken and your account is all set up, you can choose a delivery date to suit you, subject to status clearance.
How Can I Pay?
Payments are due on a weekly basis, and start one week after your products have been delivered, payable in advance each week. Payment can be made by Direct Debit or standing order.
You can pay 6 months or 12 months in advance and this would earn you a discount compared to paying monthly.
All items have a minimum 12 month contract.
What Happens After My Minimum Contract?
No need to renew, simply continue paying on a rolling monthly contract keeping it flexible. To change a product simply phone or visit your local Hughes branch to discuss and arrange a change over. If you choose to stop renting from Clarence William – you need to serve one month notice in writing to the branch the account was set up in – and we will then arrange a convenient date to come and collect the item(s).
If you move home, as long as you’re still within our service area, you can move your rented items with you. We can even visit you at your new address to re-set things up again – free of charge!
All this for easy monthly or annual payments and no repair bills.

Rental subject to 1 weeks advance payment, minimum contract 12 months. Deposit of £25 – £35 (depending on the appliance).
Any damage or dirty condition not highlighted on delivery will result in the deposit being forfeit on termination of rental.
